getting there...

1. Space control: Public vs. Private
2. Person observed and observer coincidentally influence each other’s behavior.
3. Watching the watchers- The look makes the image.
4. Do we ever connect, or are we just passing ships in the night?
5. Political image culture. Intelligent machines are doing the operations on visual field. Capturing, analyzing, making decisions based on what they see.
6. What we see via surveillance cameras is unremarkable- why are we so interested in it?
7. Medium reveals itself to be the vehicle of the interpretation.
8. Every optical device produces new, possibly manipulative reality.
9. Surveillance cameras are not to punish wrongdoers but to prevent even the slightest eventuality of wrongdoing.
10. Social noise/delinquent tendencies- take on a life of its own.
11.Totalitarian fantasies of transparency- observers need to observed.
12.Camera as a mean of social control.
